About us….

Our school was first opened in 1878 for the education of children of all ages, becoming an infant school for children aged 4-7 years old in 1967.

Chellaston Infant School has been at the heart of our community for over 140 years and we are proud of the ongoing success of our school. We pride ourselves on the strong links we have maintained with the different organisations in Chellaston and especially our pre-school community.

“Leaders are determined to teach pupils through a curriculum that interests them and gives them a better understanding of the world around them. Their learning is enriched by a variety of visits to places of interest and visitors to the school.” Ofsted, February 2018.

Chellaston Infant School is a successful school that also prides itself on its commitment to providing all pupils with a high-quality education, taking into account individual needs.

“… it is clear that Chellaston Infants is a school that children, families and staff are proud to be a part of and that over time a nurturing, caring, warm environment has evolved, and that children and families feel well supported.”  The Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools 2020, Silver Award.

We only achieve this through close partnership with parents and carers.

We look forward to working with you to ensure that your child’s time at our school is as positive, exciting and successful as it can be.
